A New Life.
Why do we try and hold on to the old, when we have the new?
When we have given our self to the Father, and live the new life. So many times we hold on to the old. We have a hard time letting go of what we are use to. Which can cause us not having that fully new life in Christ
.
No one Sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men poor new wine into old wineskin's. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskin's will be ruined. No they poor new wine into new wineskin's, and both are preserved
Matthew 9:16-17
What got me thinking about this was in a devotional I''m doing.
A New Home is the title of my third day working in this devotional. I was working on this week, and she talks about if you are living in an old RV so small you cant stand straight up. With clutter every where, and the smell is awful: but you have gotten use to it. Now imagine you have been offered a new home, on solid ground huge rooms, tons of closet space. Clean and Beautiful! So you rev up the old RV and plow right in to the new house and the RV is in the middle of the living room. You sit back in the RV seat , take a deep breath and what for something fresh. But the breath taste alot like the old.
That's like are relationship with God. When we accept God into our lives and we want to change and have this new abundant life, well have to give up the old to fully live in the new. He has all this new to give us, but we must let go of the old. The wasn't good and we are looking for the good so why hold onto it. Lay it down ; So we can get the full wonderful abundant life God is trying to offer us.
I know we have all been there. Its could be something very little we try to hold on to. Just give it to God, so you can be living in the new and getting all God has to offer.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come
2 Corinthians 5;17
I hope you all have a blessed filled weekend. Living in the new!
