FRUITFUL FRIDAYS COME SHARE also Fearless Friday

Photobucket

Wow sorry I haven't done this last week or so. My home life has been so busy with school, sports and having some things done in my home.

Well lets see haven't been able to be as fruitful as I would like these last two weeks with everything going on One thing I can say though is that I'm always there for a dear friend of mine when she needs to talk and needs some one just to listen, and give her love and encouragement. We need to be that for our friends. I know I sometimes need just someone to listen also and love me and help encourage me and give me a word from God that I may need. So I encourage you to always have that ear your friend may need, with no judgment but with a heart like Jesus to just reach out and love them. We all need that!

Share how you may have been Fruitful this last week or so.

Post link in Mr Linky so we can visit your blog and be encouraged.

Peer Pressure

Well with school starting up again I been seeing alot of articles on Peer Pressure. Something I talk to my kids often about.

I have three boys 16 , 12 and 5. All will be in school this year. Which makes me sad, but something you have to deal with as they get older.

Kids these days have so much to deal with, I feel much more than I did growing up. As a teen though I stood my ground on things I knew I should not do or be part of, I did this even though I wasn't raised in a Christain home, but had very strick parents, that I am very thankful for.

Well being a Christan I want my kids to make the choice God would want them to make in their everyday life, and not what their friends or girlfriends may want them to do.

A recent survey of Georgia teenagers provided a glimpse of the pressures teens face today. For example:

37 percent said that, within the last 30 days, they had ridden in a car driven by someone who was drinking or using drugs.
66 percent said they are sexually active. Of those, two-thirds said they had not used a condom the last time they had sex.
27 percent admitted they had thought about suicide during the last 12 months.

How scary is that? But we can't shield our kids from the influence of the world. That would be impossible . At some point, our children will begin making their own decisions about who their friends will be and what values they will live out. They need our help to prepare them to make good choices when that day comes.

Discuss how friends will try to influence them in areas such as:

Cursing
Lying to parents
Drinking alcohol
Sneaking out of the house at night
Shoplifting
Taking drugs
Looking at pornographic books and magazines
Sexual intimacy
and anything else that would come up

We have to try and teach them how to handle each one of these, tell them how they need to be leaders and not a follower.

Most important is prayer! For us as parents to pray daily over our children, that God help them with making the right choices, teaching them to pray for their self and Gods protection of them to keep them strong and not to fall because of Peer Pressure.

I so believe in this verse:
Train up a child in the way he should go:and when he is old,he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Is this something your talk to your kids about?
Share some things you talk to them about and how you teach them to handle
Peer Pressure.

Quiet Times

At the Well Blog Button

How do you spend moments with Jesus?

In prayer, or with music where I truely fill freedom to worship and praise him.

Do you have a set quiet time?

Not a set time wish I could be better about that for sure, getting in a routine would be great. I usaaly have it earily morning if I can if not in the evenings when everyone goes to bed is when I really enjoy that time so I can read, study and devotionals. Though I talk to him many times through out the day in prayers or just thanking him for providing for my family.

If you have children, how has your time changed from when you didn't or over the years as they have grown?

Its hard with running because of sport or just more things need to be done around the house. Which Im learning that NOTHING comes before God and to make sure that RELATIONSHIP I build with him is most important and to let nothing come before that. Thats how raising my childern will be better and my relationship with them will be better.

Thankful Thursday!

11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
15These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
Titus 2:11-15
I have to say, when I sit and I watch the local news, world news and the things that just going on around this world. I'm thankful that I'm saved and bought by the blood of Jesus Christ. I don't have to be of this world. I cant even imagine not being saved and not knowing the truth. It saddens my heart that so many don't know and don't wanna know God and don't believe.
I pray that when other see me that they do notice something different about me. That they want that something. I know I'm not perfect far from it as we all are, but people who are not christian will find whatever that is that and try and use it against us. Well I'm Gods vessels to use me with whatever gifts he has given me to be a witness and I will do my best, to show the world Jesus Christ so that someone may see him through and except him and try their best to live that same way the best they can, then they can use the gifts Gods gives them to reach out to others.
We are the only light in this world. So let that light shine!
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Mathew 5:14-16
So this week and always I'm Thankful this Thursday for:
My Salvation through Jesus Christ
That he gives me strength and courage to live in this dark world
He Gives me a light to burn to walk this earth and that others may grab a hold to that light to come out of the dark.
Praise God!!!!! Thank you Father for being my light that I grabbed on and I wanted more than what this earth has to offer. I want nothing of this world all I want is Jesus and spending eternity with him. This world Father can be a scary place, and if wasn't for you being with me could devour me up like I'm nothing. But I' am something I'm a child of God bought by the blood of Jesus Christ and nothing can come against me Praise God! Wooooweeee thank you Father!
The world doesn't understand what it means to love you. But I rather be on your side than the side of someone who doesn't love you Let the difference You make in my life shine out through me.
In Jesus Name I pray
Amen!

Tuesday Toot

Havent done TT in couple weeks. I think my TT would have to be spending more time with my kids talking about God and How important prayer is. And always thanking God for each day and that he supplys their every need, keeps them healthy and safe. We had a guest speaker two Sundays ago who talked about Prayer and how we as Christains dont do it enough. My boys got alot out of that. So being able to sit and talk about it was great. Sometimes you wonder if they are really listening, but Im learning if you take time to sit and talk about what was preached on you may be surprised at what they got out of it. So looking forward to more of these talks with my boys.

Marriage Monday- Guard Your Marriage with Affair-Proof Hedges

1st Monday Every Month at Chrysalis
Want this button?
S
Guard Your Marriage with Affair-Proof HedgesNancy C. Anderson
What are hedges? Hedges are boundaries. In Mark 12:1 Jesus said, “A man planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it.” First, the man planted a vineyard. Think of your marriage as a vineyard. You “planted” it the day you said, I do. Next, the man in the parable placed a hedge around his vineyard. Why? Several reasons: to protect it from intrusion by animals and thieves; to keep his vines inside his vineyard; and to separate his territory from his neighbors.
A hedge makes the statement, “Private Property, No Trespassing.” The symbolic hedges around our marriages serve the same purposes. As a married couple, your goal, as co-owners of your vineyard, is to keep the good things in—and the bad things out. These HEDGES consist of simple principles that will protect your marriage from external invaders and internal discontent. They are all action words:
Hearing: Listening and speaking with patience and understanding;Encouraging: Helping each other in thought, word, and deed;Dating: Keeping it fresh and fun. Build a life that celebrates marriage;Guarding: Agreeing on your boundaries—and enforcing them;Educating: Becoming an expert on your mate;Satisfying: Meeting each other’s needs.Planting the Hedges
Gardeners know that maintaining a hedge is an ongoing task. But first, you’ve got to plant the hedge. And any gardener will tell you that when planting something, one of the most important considerations is the condition of the soil.
Assuming that Christ is the soil of your marriage, all the hedges, in order to grow to maturity, must be planted in Him. If you’re married to a non-Christian, your hedges and your hearts may be divided, creating conflict about the location of boundaries for your marriage as well as large gaps in those boundaries. You’ll need to be willing to find creative ways to maintain your Christian “soil” without discounting your mate’s needs.
Another important consideration as you plant your hedges is positioning them with room to grow. Last year my husband, Ron, and I hired a “landscape architect” (who charges twice as much as a gardener) to redesign our front yard. It hadn’t been updated since the 1970s. So, after he yanked everything out, he planted some scrawny hedges. (Actually, his crew did the work; he just talked on his cell phone and drank iced mochas). The hedges were supposed to act as a fence to keep stray dogs and children off our lawn, but they were about three feet apart.
I asked him, “How can those puny things give us any protection?”
He looked at me as if I was challenging his expertise, and with a condescending tone said, “Trust me; I know what I’m doing. If I plant them any closer, they’d fight for the same sun and water; they’d crowd each other out. They’d all die. They gotta have room to grow.”
The same principle applies to your marriage hedges. Plant them with the knowledge that they will grow, change, and fill-in as your marriage matures.
Watering the Hedges
We’re all responsible for watering our hedges. But to have enough water to offer our marriages, we must have our own reservoir to draw from.
Spiritual Water
The most important kind of water is Spiritual water, which we get from our relationship with the Lord, who is the Living Water (John 4:10–15). Over the years, Ron and I have read several devotional books together, and it’s vital to have a time to read the Bible and pray as a couple. But don’t neglect your own, personal relationship with the Lord.In addition to regular church attendance with my family, I’m reading the One-Year Bible on my own, and Ron is listening to a series of Christian teaching tapes in his car. We often share with each other the new things we’ve learned. Sometimes he tells me a story or gives me an example from one of the tapes, and he likes to hear about my new insights as well.
In seeking spiritual water, let the Lord direct you. Ask Him to show you how to build your marriage into a strong reservoir full of deep Living Water
.Intellectual Water
The second way to water your relationship is with intellectual water: new information. Ron and I have many diverse interests and, while we do most of our activities together, we each have a few things we do alone. I’m a member of Toastmaster International, a wonderful group that trains public speakers, and I attend the weekly meeting at 6:30 A.M. so I don’t cut into family time. When I come home, Ron usually asks, “How’d it go? Did you win any more ribbons?” Or “What were the speeches about?”
Ron plays basketball every Saturday morning with a group of men at a local college. When he gets home, I usually ask, “How did you play? Did you learn any new moves?” With my encouragement, he’ll talk for twenty minutes and give a play-by-play description of the game. We both try to have new information to tell each other every day. But it wasn’t always that way.
When Nick was a toddler, I was at home most of the time and my days were so repetitive that I felt like I lived in the Bill Murray movie Ground Hog Day. I knew that Ron liked me to talk about something other than how many socks the dryer ate and how hard it is to get spaghetti sauce stains out of Tupperware. So I made it a point to have something new to tell him every day. I started reading the newspaper so we could talk about current events and joined a “Mommy and Me” class so I’d have stories from the “outside.” In the process of these new activities, I formed new interests and he looked forward to hearing what I had to say—and so did I.
Safely inside the Hedges
When we talk with couples who are having marriage troubles, one of them usually says, “I’m bored—our marriage just isn’t very exciting anymore. All we ever do is talk about the kids and bills and watch TV. I know everything my spouse is going to say before he [or she] says it. We’re in a deep, predictable rut. I need some excitement!”
Can you guess where they go to get their thrills? Yep, outside the hedges. That’s why it’s important to have some outside interests to talk about. Have your own “well” of experience to draw from. Keep your relationship watered with new information—both spiritual insights and unique, interesting activities.
A marriage that is well watered will have deep roots and will withstand the storms of life. If your relationship is in a drought, however, and its roots are weak and shallow, then the wind and erosion—life’s problems—will damage and eventually destroy your marriage. So keep your hearts safely inside your strong, healthy hedges."
Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do."
Proverbs 4:23

Don't be distracted

Recieved this in an email and had to share!
Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior." "Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken." "So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, but steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ." "This is what I want you to do", said the devil: "Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" his demons shouted. "Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow." "Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles." "Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!" "Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly." "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mail boxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products , services and false hopes." "Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives." "Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night." "Give them headaches too!" "If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere." "That will fragment their families quickly!" "Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death." "Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation." "Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead." "Keep them busy, busy, busy!" "And when they meet for spi ritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences." "Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause." "It will work!" "It will work!" It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful at his scheme? You be the judge! Does "busy" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?

So praying God moves on my dad next Sunday.

Boils Oh The Pain

I have had started getting these painful boils since the beginning of this year. Don't know how I got it . I know my husband has had them before but they bust and go away. My son who plays football had gotten a couple last football season which is common in athletes. Well I had gotten a really bad one on my rear I believe in March that the hard mass was size of a tennis ball and the redness infection was size of a saucer plate. I have never felt pain like this in my life was awful. Well had gotten so bad that it started killing my skin, I had gotten staph and mrsa infection with it. It took to months to fully heal. I have had 6 since then . The last two I just was in hospital this morning for getting cut on so they could squeeze and drain them. The pain is just awful. If anyone knows ways to help prevent these please any suggestions I will try. Don't want to get anymore. I haven't been able to go to a regular doctor for them because our health insurance we didn't have until April but making appointment to see if there is something I can take or prevent these things. Well this was basically my weekend filled with pain.

A New Life.

A New Life.

Why do we try and hold on to the old, when we have the new?

When we have given our self to the Father, and live the new life. So many times we hold on to the old. We have a hard time letting go of what we are use to. Which can cause us not having that fully new life in Christ
.
No one Sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men poor new wine into old wineskin's. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskin's will be ruined. No they poor new wine into new wineskin's, and both are preserved
Matthew 9:16-17

What got me thinking about this was in a devotional I''m doing.
A New Home is the title of my third day working in this devotional. I was working on this week, and she talks about if you are living in an old RV so small you cant stand straight up. With clutter every where, and the smell is awful: but you have gotten use to it. Now imagine you have been offered a new home, on solid ground huge rooms, tons of closet space. Clean and Beautiful! So you rev up the old RV and plow right in to the new house and the RV is in the middle of the living room. You sit back in the RV seat , take a deep breath and what for something fresh. But the breath taste alot like the old.

That's like are relationship with God. When we accept God into our lives and we want to change and have this new abundant life, well have to give up the old to fully live in the new. He has all this new to give us, but we must let go of the old. The wasn't good and we are looking for the good so why hold onto it. Lay it down ; So we can get the full wonderful abundant life God is trying to offer us.

I know we have all been there. Its could be something very little we try to hold on to. Just give it to God, so you can be living in the new and getting all God has to offer.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come
2 Corinthians 5;17

I hope you all have a blessed filled weekend. Living in the new!

Thankful Thursday

There are so many to be thankful for in our lives.
I'm thankful for my Pastor. Last nights church was really good. Love when he gets me thinking and motivated.
Thankful for being able to teach at our church, and the excitement on my 5 year old face when he knows I'm teaching his class.
Thankful for the comments that make me smile that our 5 year old says. Just yesterday before church daddy was helping him with his shoes and when daddy went outside he looks at me and said daddy is a great guy isn't he mommy. Just melted my heart.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Filled With Praise
Some of my favorite things are my church, my Pastor and church family.
My church we have been at for a year now, and finally know this is truly where God wants us to be. My soul was so hungry for so long and wanting more. Now its being filled with what I need, to keep me strong and teaching how to deal with those storms that come against me. So I'm so thankful.
My Pastor is one of the most caring Pastors I have met. He is so there for his congregation. What I love about him is he a tell it like it is Pastor, word for word from the Bible and if you don't like what he has to say oh well he not going to candy coat anything and gives it they way it is said and what God wants of us and he not change Gods words to please no one. I love that about him!. I dont need to hear what make me feel better but what Gods wants from me, so I can be with my Father in Heaven.
My church family is awesome also. They are caring loving people who you know when you need them they are there. You know they are praying for you and they Love you.

Word-Filled Wednesday

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Well toot toot I'm a going to do lol. Yesterday I started my diet once again, but this time something feels different, because I also while doing this and getting help from God to help me through this have also decided to get closer to God. I started a devotional that a friend had sent me. Its a 40 day Devotional Journal. Looking forward to these next 40 days. Yesterday went good did my devotional had some prayer time, and did great on the diet. I feel so motivated which I haven't felt in a while, so excited about getting this weight off and also what really has me excited is the relationship with my heavenly Father getting stronger. I want to be a open to what God has for me to do and alot of time I let my weight hold me back. Well I decided I will not anymore, I'm going to fix the problem. I'm also fasting something this week also. So this journey is going to be awesome!

Marriage Monday- Traveling with your Husband

Traveling with your Husband
This is the topic for this weeks Marriage Monday.
We don't get to really travel much with three kids gets expensive.
Though we did just come back from a week long vacation to Pigeon Forge, which was very enjoyable. I so enjoyed the whole thing with my hubby. When ever we get anytime for long periods together it is so enjoy and hate when it ends. We also do go camping a couple time a year which I also love. Sitting around a camp fire with him, walking and holding hands and talking gets no better thank that. So I know we don't travel much but what we have done has been nothing but very pleasurable and looking forward to more of it.

Thankful Thursday and a Few of my Favorite things.

In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free

Psalm 118:5

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed

John 8:36

Freedom I am so thankful for. I'm thankful for those who risk their lifes everyday to give me my freedom. That I live where I have the freedom to still worship my God. The freedom I'm mostly thankful for is the freedom from sin, through my savior Jesus Christ. What a awesome thing to have freedom!!!!!

Dear Lord,
There is no greater feeling of liberation than to experience this freedom from sin and death that you have provided for me through Jesus Christ. Today my heart and my soul are free to praise you. For this I am very thankful.
On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchases with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives.
Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families.
Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ.
Amen

Filled With Praise
This is my first time doing this one, and seems really cool so I decided to join in on it. Thanks Lauren for sharing it.
So here are a few of my favorite things:
Being a wife is one. I love being a wife and being my husband support and shoulder he needs. We are not just husband and wife we are best friends, and being his wife is one of my favorite things.
Second would be being a mommy. I love it. I have been bleesed with three healthy boys. That make me laugh everyday. Being a mom is one of my favorite things!

Marriage Mondays

Mike and I have such an awesome Marriage. I have so been blessed with an awesome man. He has a great love for the Lord, and he respects me to the fullest. We had a talk not to long ago, basically was me filling not good about myself because of weight I have gained I'm very hard on myself, and I need to be told alot that I look nice or just something because if I don't hear It start thinking I look awful and start coming down on myself really bad.

Well Mike is one he don't say it but shows it in other ways, like a slap on the rear or might make little comments that him and I only get as a married couple you know. Well I just need to here babe you look Beautiful today or wow or something like that. He has been trying hard to say whats on his mind when he looks at me and he is thinking it to just come out and say it.

Well I was finishing up in the bathroom with my hair Sunday morning before Church, and as I was walking out he was standing there watching, and he was like baby you look so sexy today, and gave me this huge hug, well yes I just melted in his arms, and I kissed him and told him thank you I needed that. He said its something you need me to just come out say when I'm thinking it and I'm trying to do that, more, and when I was watching you that's what I was thinking, and how lucky I m to have such a Beautiful wife. I'm so blessed when he does that. Makes me feel so good and lets me know how attracted he is still to me.

I think so many times marriages can be rocky, because of many different things, but I know I have heard alot where the man or woman have said he/she just not giving me what I need. Well have you sat down and talked about it? Have you given that other person a chance to tell you or try to do what you need? Have you went before the Lord? These things are very important. I think people are to easy to give up to fast. My husband just is a man who never just comes out and would use those words I needed to hear, because that's just him. He show me in other ways, how much he loves me or thinks I'm Beautiful, But I just wanna hear the words, and he does that now, because I was able to talk to him and tell him I needed him to tell me not just show me, and because he loves me he does it.

I'm so thankful that him and I can talk to each other about anything that may bother us or concern us. We are deeply in love, and being a couple who puts God in the center of our marriage we have something wonderful.

I hope that if anyone reads this that may be dealing with something in that marriage, gives them the strength to sit down and talk with spouse and they can together work on what ever it may be together. Go before the Lord first and allow him to prepare you for your talk and you will be amazed at what communication and having God part of it can do in your marriage.

God Bless
Michele

Fab Friday!

I love Fridays. Why you may ask, well even though I'm a SAHM Fridays mean the last day of work for my hubby and kids when in school is their last day of school for two days. I just love having my family all together.

Today I have done alot of running, I had gotten email Early where I was told they were giving free food away, and to come get some. Well heck yea that made my day because I wasn't going to be able to go to store for maybe two weeks, so that had been on my mind, but I know God is good and always takes care of us and he has again. I'm very thankful. Well I had alot so took some up to my church Pastor and maybe they can use it or give to someone they know who may need it. So that was a blessing.

Our church ladies are raising money, for our trip in August which I'm very excited about. Was talking to one of the ladies who put it together today and she has me so fired up about it. Holy Spirit will be moving that weekend. We are doing many different events to raise money for it:
Rummage/Bake Sale (which is today and tomorrow will be helping tomorrow with that) Dinner, and bunch more stuff.

Well I still have laundry to get done, try to have it all done so my weekend is free. So I will be blogging with yall Monday. Have a blessed weekend

I'm Thankful for my familys Health. So many things happening in our everyday lifes that we forget to thank God for things. I'm very thankful for my health and my husband and kids health. Its something I thank God for everyday, and pray that he continue to keep us healthy.
